Hoax Jadul



Cuplikan halaman 2628 dari Tafsir Al-Azhar Juz-9 karya H. Abdul M.K. Amrullah di atas memaparkan HOAX yang sudah berumur lebih dari 100 tahun.

Bedanya, dahulu menggunakan kertas berbentuk  "surat kecil". Kalau sekarang, siapa saja, dari yang I.Q-nya 0 hingga 200, atau lebih, dapat menyebarkan HOAX melalui media sosial.

Kisah Dua MoGeErs



Dua MoGe-ers sedang jalan-jalan menuju hutan yang lebat. Ditengah hutan lebat, mereka baru sadar lupa membawa kompas dan ponsel. Padahal mereka mau sholat. Masing-masing ijtihad untuk menentukan arah kiblat. Namun, hasilnya, berbeda 180 derajat!

Kasus 1:
Kalau mereka sholat masing-masing, mereka akan mengarah ke kiblat hasil ijtihat masing-masing.

Kasus 2:
Kalau mereka sholat berjamaah, apakah kiblat masing-masing, atau makmun mengikuti imam?

Popeyes LA



Akibat pandemi, KFC LA Terrace tidak lagi buka 24 jam. KFC 24 Jam terdekat sepertinya di Pondok Indah.

Kini, di Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung arah Depok baru dibuka sebuah gerai Popeyes Chicken. 

Belakangan ini, mulai ada trend pesan tidak bisa langsung, namun harus berhadapan dengan sebuah mesin. Jadi, harus beberapa kali klik untuk sebuah pemesanan.

Mengenai rasa, mungkin lebih enak KFC. Atau juga mungkin sudah terbiasa dengan KFC?!

The Sahih Al-Bukhari Numbering Systems



Some "Sahih Al-Bukhari" scholars and publishers have used different numbering systems over the years, which can sometimes confuse us when referencing specific Hadiths. It is important to note that despite these other numbering systems, the commonly accepted numbering system is the most widely used and recognized among scholars and laypeople. It is the one most often cited and referenced in discussions and studies of Sahih Al-Bukhari. Nonetheless, the Hadith numbers are widely accepted to refer to specific Hadiths in Sahih Al-Bukhari. Several alternate numbering systems include:
  1. The numbering system used in the edition of Muhammad Muhyi al-Din `Abd al-Hamid differs from the commonly accepted numbering system.
  2. The numbering system used in the edition published by Darussalam also differs slightly from the commonly accepted numbering system.
  3. Some scholars and publishers have used a different numbering system for the Arabic text of Sahih Al-Bukhari compared to the translation, which can confuse when trying to match specific Hadiths in both versions.
  4. Additionally, some publishers have divided the Hadiths into smaller or larger sections than others, which can also cause differences in numbering.

Resolusi 2023++: Tafsir Al-Azhar





Tahun 1980an yang lalu, saya pernah mencicil membeli himpunan buku-buku "Tafsir Al-Azhar" juz 1-30 edisi "Kertas Koran."

Untuk resolusi 2023, saya merencanakan untuk memulai kembali membaca Tafsir Al-Azhar tersebut. Jika membaca rata-rata 50 halaman per minggu (atau 10 halaman per hari), insya Allah --- sekitar 8200 halaman akan dirampungkan dalam 3 tahun!

Iterasi #00: 2021

Iterasi nomor 00 (percobaan) sebetulnya dimulai akhir tahun 2021 lalu, saat saya kembali ikut Jumatan. Sambil menunggu azan, membaca Tafsir Al-Azhar melalui ponsel. Iterasi ini berakhir 30 Jan 2023.


Iterasi #01: 30 Jan 2023

Iterasi ini dimulai pada tanggal 30 Jan 2023. Selain Tafsir Al-Azhar, secara paralel menyimak Tafsir Ibn Katsir. 

Ini merupakan pertama kali membaca (terjemahan) Tafsir Ibn Katsir. Selama ini, saya banyak mendapat "rekomendasi" keutamaan Tafsir Ibn Katsir tersebut. Kesan saya ialah, Tafsir Ibn Katsir banyak sekali mengilhami struktur Tafsir Al-Azhar.

BliBli: SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive 64GB

I have purchased two "Sandisk Ultra Dual Drive 64GB" flash drives online from the same online seller at BliBli. It turned out that the two disks were from different distributors with different performances! Not expecting this, I ignored to note which flash drive came from which distributor.





I performed three similar read/write tests on both flash drives. The result is as follows:

Bambu Runcing: Romantika dan Realita



Salah satu (dari banyak) masalah bangsa ialah --- sejarah ingin ditetapkan dengan DEMOKRASI -- suara terbanyaklah yang menang tanpa perlu ada penelitian dan verifikasi. Demikian juga dengan peranan Bambu Runcing dalam perang kemerdekaan.


Tentunya, kita telah membaca banyak cerita tentang Bambu Runcing. Monumen Bambu Runcing didirikan dimana-mana, serta setiap 17-Agustusan akan ada spanduk heroik para pejuang dengan Bambu Runcing. Se-olah-olah, kita "mengusir" penjajah hanya dengan senjata Bambu Runcing! Seberapa akuratkah cerita-cerita yang beredar?


Setelah GSGS (Google Sana, Google Sini), tidak (belum?) ditemukan informasi rinci seputar penggunaan Bambu Runcing. Belum ada data akurat, berapa "korban" akibat penggunaan Bambu Runcing. Juga tidak ada informasi perihal bagaimana biasanya digunakan: apakah dilempar atau di tusuk?


Bambu Runcing --- telah dikenal saat jaman pendudukan Jepang --- digunakan  untuk senjata latihan murah meriah. Istilah Jepang untuk Bambu Runcing ialah "takeyari." Saat perang kemerdekaan, Bambu Runcing juga dikenal dengan sebagai "cucukan."


Berdasarkan buku "Bisikan Nurani Seorang Jenderal: Kumpulan Wawancara Dengan Media Massa," jendral Nasution mengungkapkan:
“Adalah setengah mitos di minggu-minggu pertama merdeka maka rakyat dengan bambu runcing seakan-akan pagar betis menjadi kekuatan untuk memaksa pejabat di kantor, lingkungan, pabrik, dan lain-lain agar taat kepada RI. Tapi, pada pertempuran real, bambu runcing itu lebih banyak jadi senjata semangat.”

Muhammad Asad (born Leopold Weiss, 1900-1992)



Muhammad Asad, born Leopold Weiss (1900-1992), was an Austro-Hungarian-born Jew who converted to Islam and worked as a journalist, traveler, writer, linguist, political theorist, and diplomat.




In April 2008, a space in front of the UNO City in the 22nd District of Vienna was named Muhammad-Asad-Platz.




BERLIN MEMORIAL PLATE




Translation: The journalist, diplomat, and scholar MUHAMMAD ASAD lived in this house (1900-1992). The pioneer of a dialogue between cultures was born as the son of Jewish parents under Leopold Weiss and is one of the most important Muslim authors of his time.
