logrotate wtmp

(from man) logrotate is designed to ease administration of systems that generate large numbers of log files. It allows automatic rotation, compression, removal, and mailing of log files. Each log file may be handled daily, weekly, monthly, or when it grows too large.

/etc/crontab

25 6 * * * root /etc/cron.daily

Dari berkas /etc/crontab didapatkan bahwa cron.daily dijalankan setiap hari jam 6:25.

/etc/cron.daily

Dalam folder /etc/cron.daily didapatkan script logrotate

/etc/logrotate.conf

Berkas ini berisi diantaranya:

 

/var/log/wtmp {
    missingok
    weekly
    create 0664 root utmp
    compress
    delaycompress
    rotate 99
}

Ini akan menghasilkan berkas wtmp, wtmp.1, wtmp.2.gz, ... wtmp.99.gz.

Cek

Masih perlu dicek, apakah weekly akan rotate pada awal minggu?
